mumibuto’s birds

my inspiration comes from the colours and forms in nature, from wool, fabric and threads and from my love of animals; i studied art years ago, then went on to study people and society...i love making things- my hands can’t keep up with my imagination! i make my woolly birds to be whimsical and fun…

flirty bird

Flirty Bird came to life after the birth of my second child. I love fabric and had many bundles from years of hoarding. Being a new mum I wanted to create something for children. I thought back to special memories from my childhood and being a girly girl it was definitely my hair accessories that I cherished. Now I create cute and quirky hair accessories from fabrics around the worldto 'tame your nest'.

nadia turner

"I must admit...I am fascinated by other worlds and other cultures. In my work, whether it be my hand-painted brooches, cards or art, I am trying to capture a moment in a characters life and evoke a sense of otherworldliness. Just like when you look at an old photograph, I want you to wonder...who are these creatures...what worlds do they live in, and what are their dreams?"

michael laderman

Michael started stone setting in London at the tender age of 16, in 1974. He served a 5 year apprenticeship at a company in the notorious Hatton Garden precinct working on pieces of jewellery made for European royalty and for many of the finest West end jewellers in London.

His pieces capture the regal elements of yesteryear with a touch of the contemporary, at a fraction of the cost while keeping the West end standard.

Michael's inspiration comes from the marriage between metal and stone. Michael also teaches stone setting part time at NMIT in Fairfield.

maria psaltis

I have always loved making things,I can remember as a small child drawing plans to build a cubby house.
I am not as ambitious any longer,I have found my passion in polymer clay.
I love the durability of polymer and the possibilities for its use are endless.
When I am not making bits and pieces out of polymer,I am making hats and headwear or bead weaving.
Basically,I'll give anything a go!

sakki

I love all things Japanese! Their textiles, their designers, their styles, their martial arts...everything.

I love creating styles with that oriental feel and look, using Japanese vintage obi and fabrics. Occasionally I borrow from Chinese culture, but
mostly it's Japanese.

I design and create from home in my converted shed, where sew all day long with my big dog Arthur to keep me company, and a few good audio books from the local library.
